The little things like postcards and small prints are a nice little thanks and more people need to get real that just listing all of the funders name on a website with a big thank you wont cut it in the future. You need to give inside information, connections, and even physical rewards at a cheaper price. People need to stop with the projects that are asking for funding for equipment and plane tickets to exotic locations though... and prioritize what money they try and get crowdsourced towards actually creating the work. I'm sure Emphas.is will be all over this and am optimistic to see how they replace newspaper and magazine funding.

Some articles on this subject:
http://verbal.co.za/2011/01/id...

With just two photographs you can really show a depth of personality and emotion. It seems there are some common lines of frustration between contemporary artists of Beijing and those of Vietnam. I too spent this past summer exploring contemporary arts on that side of the ocean, interning at this neat galerie in Saigon called Galerie Quynh. I'm certain there are considerable differences between the arts scene of each place, but as I've heard that VN-in regards to contemporary arts and in some regards otherwise--is like Shanghai ten years ago... I wonder if communism plays/has recently played a role on contemporary arts in Beijing as it does in VN? We should connect sometime!
